Using technology to increase preschool quality and pay preschool tuition in Dayton, OH

Using Metrix’ technology platform, Dayton Preschool Promise has been able to process over 10,000 applications, and provide tuition assistance to nearly 7000 students, and quality improvement support to over 1000 students.

The Problem

After a successful pilot to provide tuition support for 4-year-olds in Montgomery County, OH, Dayton Preschool Promise needed a technology system for securely managing program applications and enrollment and for tracking attendance and payments. They also wanted the system to track quality improvement spending and professional development for teachers.

The Solution

Metrix developed a flexible, secure, and user-friendly database for use by Dayton Preschool Promise staff. The system is used by staff members across the organization in a wide variety of roles, including application support, marketing, and management.

Metrix customized modules specifically for:

  • Managing student applications, enrollment, attendance, and payments

  • Oversight of preschool quality improvement fund requests and spending

  • Tracking student leads, as generated by community outreach and marketing activities

Metrix continues to work with Preschool Promise to improve technological operations and build new functionality and tools for the program.
